Sense of humor

it is hard to keep a sense of humor when things are looking dire, but we try.....  one thing which is funny to us, is that neither of us were considered funny people, rather serious...
but together we give each other laughter.....  i love that.  I live that i can be goofy and he loves me anyway....

Yesterday we were making up sign language so he could communicate with me...
a note here,  I have no upper teeth, have 4 dental implants, so I know dental surgery....

I went to go on an errand, and came home to find this printed on my table...  so funny....

Surgery date

Larry's teeth extraction surgery is scheduled for Thursday Sept 21 at 5pm.....  this is the time slot the oral surgeon is given....   busy OR...   takes about an hour, he will be asleep....  will be back on our 8th floor wing.... our LVAD angel Tori will be in with the surgery.

He will be in most likely for 3 nights...... and one good thing, he will get good pain drugs...  plus the nurses can monitor his INR......  but prayers are always appropriate and requested....

Dental

Dental problems with an LVAD are not a good thing....  for one thing gum infection bacteria is the worst kind of infection to have... if it gets into the blood stream, it goes straight to the heart......

Larry went to oral surgeon today, after seeing a regular dentist.....   while half of his teeth are not too bad....  his gums are really bad....  like all of his teeth are going to have to come out to get it....  of course, he will be back in the hospital for surgery....   not sure of date, they will check and get back with us tomorrow...

He knows this is imminent....  all now, or go through it again....  not worth taking the risk and then having to do it again...  all is the wiser choice.  He even has one wisdom tooth that is sideways.....  he never knew he had that....

More later...

Edit.....

Our LVAD coordinator, Tori will be in OR during the surgery, will take about an hour.   He will go into hospital the day before, to our same 8th floor to get his blood thinner off, then they will get it back up as soon as it is safe...  Dr Hugh Burnett is the oral surgeon for the heart unit.....  he must be great, cause Tori had him do her wisdom teeth....

Tired of PP

Tired of possum poop,  finally got the new floor finished and the fleas gone, so decided to clean up the studio......

good grief, I didnt realize it, but apparently in the last 10 years I morphed into the dreaded art hoarder......   then on top of that, and under that, and behind that was at least a full quart bag of dried possum poop.....  yep really....  i wore gloves, got it up, vacuumed with shop vac, then steamed everything again and then again...... i had gotten one of those waste management bags and it is filling up.....

Funny. larry watched me carry bags and stuff down the stairs, but had no idea just how much there was....  i was ashamed, but he said it was just project phases.....   lol...  no it really was junk and trash....  but it is finally getting presentable, more more importantly it is now going to be usable....  i am excited about it again.....

Larry is the reason why I began painting... his encouragement was amazing...  then when I expressed an interest in ceramics, he bought a kiln and a pottery wheel...  again amazing...  we both did warm glass work in the kiln, me jewelry, he did larger slumped glass work....  he built me an area to cut mats on and even made frames for me....  he also has a tshirt press up there....  so while I call it a studio, we are a TEAM....   he has been up to the studio twice in the last day or two, just to visit, now that we can see the couch and actually sit on it......

Kids art supplies are switching over to better grade materials, they love it up there....  and now that stuff is put up, the little white girls are allowed to come up....  before they got stopped at the gate...  QTπ seems to be the one who will be visiting me the most.

Today is oral surgeon consult for Larry....  when they removed the ventilator tube in March it snagged on a cantilever bridge and broke it and a tooth....   saw a regular dentist, but because of his warfarin/coumadin, he cannot do anything...  so will know later what that will involve, he has not had anymore gastric bleed issues, so that is good.

Monday is the next heart appointment... this will be a month.... doing driveline dressing changesevery other day, had to get creative with tape, as the sorbaview covering is causing skin tears now...

Watching weather, hoping Irma shifts east, weather today is 78 for a high, 58 for a low...  gorgeous weather....
