SOS

SOS - new on iphone ios11 update
This is great for anyone....   needs more publicity...

AND NOW WE KNOW for a fact THIS REALLY WORKS........

Larry has a new iphone and a new case, he was putting the case into his LVAD equipment bag this afternoon to go to the store with me......  he was pushing into a slightly too small pocket, when all of a sudden there was a siren like an ambulance....  we thought it was his battery malfunctioning...
They were fine...  about 3 seconds later a 911 operator came onto his phone...  he explained it was an accident.  Then I received a call from him on my phone.....  It WORKS just like they say......

Nice to know... Victoria Davenport, if you got a call from him, that was what it was about... sorry...

SOS - new on iphone ios11 update

This is great for anyone....   needs more publicity...

In iOS 11, Apple added a new emergency feature to the iPhone, which is designed to allow you to quickly and discreetly place a call to emergency services. In the United States, SOS dials 911, and in other countries, it works with local emergency responders.

When you press the sleep/wake button on the iPhone five times on a device running iOS 11, it brings up a slider menu that allows you to quickly slide a finger against the screen to place the emergency call.

The extra step makes sure you don't accidentally place a 911 call, but if you want to disable it, there's an "Auto Call" feature you can toggle on to bypass the swipe.

When you use Emergency SOS on an iPhone, the feature also disables Touch ID, preventing a would-be thief or other person with malicious intent from accessing your device without entering your passcode. It also automatically alerts any emergency contacts you've set in the Health app, sending them an iMessage with your location.

Enabling Auto Call
SOS is automatically included on every iPhone running iOS 11 and there is no disabling it. Activate it by pressing on the sleep/wake button five times in rapid succession to bring up the swipe interface. If you want the feature to call emergency services automatically without the need for an extra gesture, here's how to toggle it on:

With Auto Call enabled, your phone will dial "911" (or your country's emergency line) after a three second countdown that gives you enough time to cancel the call if it's placed accidentally.

Setting Emergency Contacts
As mentioned above, whenever you use the SOS feature, Apple will automatically notify your emergency contacts if you have them set.

Emergency contacts can be set up in the Health app:
Open the Health app.
Choose Medical ID.
Select "Edit" in the top right corner.
Scroll down to the Emergency Contacts section.
Tap the "+" button to add an emergency contact.

This is where you can add your lvad on call number

Surprise its my Birthday

I seldom get surprised.... but I did yesterday....
Friday the 13th has never been an unlucky day, because my birthday is the 13th, so every few years it is on a friday....  smile... An OCTOBER Fruday the 13th is even better than in other months..
πŸŽƒ

So for my birthday, Larry bought me a gift card to Massage Envy....  gave it to me early so I scheduled both a massage and facial......  oh what a glorious 2 hours of pampering....  i was in a dream trance......

So after that, i was both tired and energized... got home, decided to just not wash hair, and stay grungy for a bit....  no makeup kinda day, but Larry said, well, he MIGHT feel like going out to eat, so maybe I should wash my hair.... lol...  i did, just not thinking....
Bryan, my oldest called to wish me Happy Birthday and we chatted about 30 minutes... Larry commented that he must not be busy at work.

Fixed lunch, soup for Larry, panini with apple horseradish jam for me... mmmmmmm
After lunch we usually take rest or nap...  but I was tossing, usually lay on couch, but couldnt get comfy, so went to the bed...

Then a knock on my front door about 3....  i do try to get the door before Larry so the dogs wont run out, and he doesnt have to get up with his LVAD bag, but the dogs were cuddling with me, so I let him get it.  He called me... Di, its for you....  i got up, walked into the living room, and kinda went into a speechless shock....  then tears began.....  it was my oldest son from Tampa.... Bryan who I had talked with earlier.....  i was truly speechless...

LARRY knew about this...  Bryan had texted him on Thursday....

We visited for a couple of hours, His wife Christie and the kids facetimed me, they were surprised to see their daddy with me too.... then we were going to go to eat, Larry decided to not go...Bryan wanted to go by Academy to look at a deer stand....  no surprise to me.  We went into the store and there was my youngest son David and his family.....  what an amazing double surprise....
More tears more shock....  sure was glad I washed my hair earlier...

Went to eat, then back to the house for them to visit Larry...

Probably one of my best birthdays.... Pictures were Not good of me, but didnt care.....   my boys.... here on my birthday...  smile they usually forget to send me cards....

Today I replaced lattice on the side deck, bought it, cut it, used air gun to nail it, πŸ”¨then I cleaned up pine needles and a few leaves on both decks and carport.... 🍁 sure hope my energy stays high for a bit longer... moved rock the other day, but still have a few more hours of rock work, also going to nail the risers on the front steps that have come off..

THEN I will be done for a bit, ready to get back to my painting, πŸ–ŒπŸŽ¨ or hmmmm maybe even some traveling....🚍  just never know.....

But the most important thing is Larry is feeling good....  smile, makes me happy.πŸŽƒ

Good people

no matter what you see on the “news” programs, there are great people in my everyday life.

The empty house next door to us has been a eyesore since we moved in.  It has had a mixture of  stranger than you can believe inhabitants..... it has been empty and rat infested, it was bad... but it was bought and us now being flipped...  the right way.. just about gutted it...  will be for sale in a short time.....  but the guys who are fixing it have been so nice...  i of course have been talking to them, but they have been nice enough to clean out the areas of our land that is next to the house....   even asking me what i would like removed or left....   today Larry treated them to lunch.....

Another great person....  is Donna.....  her husband had an LVAD, but recently he died...  I am so sorry for her, but yet she reached out to others. D happened to be on a facebook support group that I am also on.  I missed her post, but she was offering his batteries and charger and some other supplies.  I had not been on the group much because of Larrys teeth surgery.......  but yesterday I posted a photo of the embroidery patch I had gotten... D saw the post, realized I was in a nearby town and contacted me....  she even offered to meet me halfway....
Since I am staying close for now, I emailed a friend who lives in that same town, because I knew he and his wife were coming to Little Rock in a couple of weeks.  He offered to get the stuff and bring it up, so I shared D’s infirmation......  amazing D turned out to be his wifes second cousin......  smile..

I went to the dentist today for a deep scaling and cleaning...  new dentist, new peopke, but I feel very comfortable there...  thanks to the team, Dr Mathew Bridwell at Kanis Dental has a great group of people..

Talked to our friends Wayne and Earlene in Texas City on Sunday,
Talked to our friends in Canada tonight..... Dennis and Denise...
Love these great people.......
