Day by day.... might seem kinda boring now, but it seems like the day just flies by....

Larry was worried about his controller, so the first night he slept in his recliner, but last night he was a little more secure, so he slept in the bed..... his small rail helped a lot.. perfect size, but not in the way...   he was up before me, and had already changed to battery...   and had gotten his ice tea....  still not quite into water without flavor....

Then Home Health came...  she was very helpful, and helped my with the doppler BP.  Hard to find the spot...  oops writing this i remembered i was going to recheck it a few hours later...

Request for homemade chicken soup for lunch, so yes of course...  he did walk to the table.  He is not walking as much as he was, think he just is getting adjusted....

But we all got naps..  that helps everyone...

Wow... busy day, I know it will get calmer....

And now i am going to do the sterile driveline dressing change...
        First time at home, so that will be new too
Then meal again....

Everything is basically easy, preset up...  i just gotta get a routine set up....
but it will happen...

Was all prepared for a quiet night.....
yea, no...

Larry decided to sleep in his recliner, which was fine... he was worried about the no roll factor... i did get him a small bedrail that he can hang his controller on when he us ready.

He did fine, but about 2 am my text went off.... someone had been using my credit card, almost 1000 total.....  3 of which were to Uber,  which I have never used.  But got that card cancelled and those pending charges off....

Then had to go back to the hospital PHARMACY, this am...  one of the meds had been filled there, and I did not get it....  ok that is done

So now getting ready to finish the MacD breakfast I picked up on the way home, do morning vital signs, and then chill for a bit.....

Oh the HOME CHEF spaghetti and meatballs was delicious, and was twice as much as we could eat....    plus I made homemade chocolate chip cookies too....

Home safe and sound...  all plugged in, for the most part figured out...
Meds all set up for a week, as much as we can.... Warfarin is dosed each day based on blood levels...
I know our support team, LVAD coordinators/nurses are really just a phone call away..  i texted Tori with a question, and she texted then called...

Larry is sitting in his recliner napping....  no pain, just recovering...
Dogs were great... they are giving him space but watching very carefully...

Thank you all for the magnificant messages you gave been sending me/us...  i am still going to be slow about individual responses, sorry...  he keeps telling me to back off and let him do things, so I am trying to watch from a distance...

Going home today....  

On my way to the hospital this morning......  this sunrise and all green lights....

Then the final echocardiogram with the Heart Rep, the PA, Dr. Ransom surgeon, Haley the tech, Dr Hutchins cardiologist.  And another PA not inc.....   a full house.....

 His first follow up appointment is Monday, but Baptist Home Health will come by each day for a week for checks and lab work.....  so they are not totally realing us on our own.... if we hadnt been so close, we would have had to go to the hotel.....

Just got home.....  Larry is coming home tomorrow....  all doctors agreed...  i have picked up all of his meds, but tomorrow will be picc line removal, chest xray, echocardiogram, EKG, and a few labs... then we will be getting the equipment:
A home controller unit
8 batteries plus charger
A couple of carry bags
A home doppler for BP check
Possibly an air compression unit, for his legs....

I cannot tell you how ready he is....  first thing he said he wants, is for me to wash his hair....  yep, i can understand that...  it bugs me to go two days, much less a month

Menu for tomorrow is spaghetti....  and guess what, it was in my first Home Chef delivery box that came today....

Also he had me come home this afte5noon for a delivery that had to be signed for....  u came jome waited for a couple of hours, got the delivery from ups, and took the box back to the hospital....  i was surprised at the contents....  he has ordered replacement rings from Zales...  new rings for the one I lost... now he said I am really his princess Di...  one fit, the other for right hand is slightly small...
but both are beautiful.....  too sweet... he said it always bothered him that he bought my first engagement ring from a pawn shop.....  i didnt mind

HOME TOMORROW........   FINALLY.....

Dr. Hutchins said maybe today,
but his potassium is still low.... too low, coukd cause more pvc's, and arythmia, then bam the ICD woukd go off again... so IV potassium

But put order in to SnellscProsthetics and he has proper fitting compression socks now....  aw well aw the air compression wraps.

But they have put in orders for discharge tests for tomorrow, EKG, echocardiogram, chest xray, etc.....

So he might get to come home tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning......    but we havent seen Dr Ransom yet, he was in surgery,  will come by later....

Off iv for potassium, for today.
For a while he was unhooked and we went outside again.....
Much easier without the pole following along.
And we rembered to leave the heart monitor at the desk...

Just did all of the dressing changes, easier each time, but yes I am officially checked off for doing them without supervision.  No drainage at all from major incision

Dr Ransom came in after the dressing change...

But he does have pumps on both of his feet and both of his calves... they had gone down some.. and they switched from lasix to a different oral diuretic....

I am Gonna head home soon...

Today was a hard day for Larry.... he so wants to come home.... been 32 consecutive days plus the 4 days prior, but he is still retaining too much fluid especially in his legs....   just really need to get that off....  so back on the lasix drip.....

Dr Ransom was so nice... he did tell him that he wanted him to get outside today, so after lunch, i got the wheel chair, put the IV pump on battery, Larry was on battery already, so away we went...  managed ok, but as soon as we got outside, something started beeping...  i checked the IV, nope, knew it wasnt HeartMate batteries ( not loud enough), so i ginally realized it was the wireless heart monitor...  we were too far for telemetry to pick up...  so i just unplugged it...  well hell no, it kept on beeping, so Larry took the battery out...  that did it...dang little AA battery...  anyway he enjoyed the fresh air, but tired out fast...  guess i wasnt as good of a driver as I thought...  wheeling....

Got him back up safely, then told the nurse I was ready to do the driveline dressing...  she handed me the stuff and said, go for it... i kinda looked startled and said by myself.... she said yep.... you are checked off...  so I did it... Larry said I actually seemed more relaxed...  dont know about that, but I am proud that I can do this...  in a few months when it heals more and he goes to the sorbital clear dressings, he will need to learn it himself...

Anyway...  i am tired....  seems like I always am....   but enjoy these....  he wasnt happy that I pulled my camera out....  

Yesterday the nurses kept saying we were going home today.....  not sure,
Will let you know later this afternoon....

Just spending a quiet sunday afternoon...  i am making cords or "corking"...  just to keep my fingers busy.  He is snoozing...   will stop his lasix drip at 4, but his kegs are still enormous..   yes kegs, aka legs....   caught that slide and let it stay.
